The Art of Jenna Herbst
“Art is redemptive. It never takes…it only gives. Whether I make it or enjoy it, I’m only allowing the best of me, which is the part that loves unconditionally and never gives up on myself or others.” - Jenna

Jenna believes that fairy tales are not just for children. In fact, they represent the part of our mind that is still open, has a limitless quality, and a direct connection to our soul. Her work is a communication of this part of us, and she discovered it late in life. Currently 51 years old, she did her first acrylic painting only three years ago (in 2023), and only started drawing a year before that. Having done a lot of work on self - healing, (in just about every modality and spiritual tradition) and deep self-acceptance, she was able to access a part of herself inaccessible in the past, and to her great joy, she started painting regularly, and discovered it as her vocation. She hopes that the images, characters, and scenes from her psyche will resonate as universal, and awaken what she has discovered within, which is our limitless creativity, our childlike joy, and the freedom to say, be, and feel whatever we are in this moment.
Outside of painting, Jenna has an M.Div. from the Naropa University, a Buddhist University, and has worked as a social worker, hospice chaplain, and counselor. Currently, she is a music teacher, and has a small counseling practice. You can find one of her albums, “Songbird,” on Spotify, Apple, and YouTube.
